VOLTRA by Physibel is a 3D transient heat-transfer simulation tool designed to model how temperatures and heat fluxes evolve over time in building components and details. It helps engineers and building scientists assess thermal bridges, thermal mass effects, and time-dependent boundary conditions so they can predict surface and internal temperatures, evaluate condensation risk, and improve energy performance.
Key capabilities include:
- Time-dependent analysis of heat conduction with support for complex geometries
- Temperature and heat-flux histories, isotherms, and phase-shift/peak evaluations
- Integration with Physibel’s steady-state workflows to extend analyses from steady to transient cases
- Support for variable boundary conditions (e.g., outdoor climate profiles, pulses, or periodic excitations)
- Tools to study design alternatives and optimize component performance over the full operating cycle
VOLTRA is commonly used in façade and envelope design, thermal-bridge assessment, and research applications where dynamic thermal behavior matters.
VOLTRA is developed by Physibel. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 3.3, 3.4, 6.0, 7.0 and 8.1. The names of program executable files are Voltra.exe, VOLTRA8.exe.
